Shelby County Football for Week 3

September 10, 2026 - Three of Shelby County’s five varsity football teams earned wins last week.

The Center Roughriders lost another home game to the Cornerstone Christian School by a 51-14 score. Center will now travel to Nacogdoches to take on the Dragons on September 11 at 7:00pm. Nacogdoches is now 0-2 after losing to Lufkin last week. 

The Joaquin Rams won on the road against the Tenaha Tigers 76-20 in Tenaha. Joaquin will have their first bye week before hosting Grand Saline on September 18.

Shelby County Football for Week 2

September 3, 2026 - Last week, four Shelby County varsity football teams won their season openers while Center lost their first game of the 2026 season.

The Center Roughriders lost their home opener to the Van Vandals by a 46-19 score. Center will now host the Cornerstone Christian School at Roughriders Stadium on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 7pm. Cornerstone is 0-1 after losing to IMG Academy National 59-10 on the road.

Shelby County Football Starts This Week

August 27, 2026 - All five Shelby County schools start their regular football season this week. Junior high, junior varsity teams and Tenaha varsity will begin play tonight. All other varsity games will start on Friday.

The Center Roughriders varsity will start the year hosting the Van Vandals, Friday, August 28 for a 7:30pm kickoff at Roughrider Stadium. Tailgate will begin at 5:30pm.

The Joaquin Rams varsity team will travel to Beckville for an away game Friday against the Bearcats. Kickoff is at R.C. Beauchamp Stadium at 7pm.
