Shelby County Historical Society/Museum March Meeting

March 7, 2017 - The March meeting for the Shelby County Historical Society/Museum will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 2pm in the Museum on 230 Pecan Street.  The guest speaker will be Mr. Bill O'Neal, who is the Texas State Historian and a well-known author.

He taught history for many years at Panola College and will share a brief history on the Alamo.  He has written many books about the history of Texas.  Everyone is invited to attend the meeting.

The annual membership drive is still in full swing and everyone is encourged to became a member of the Shelby County Historical Society/Museum. Membership prices range from $25 to $1000.  The Museum is open Monday - Friday from 1pm to 4pm.  This is the main source of income the Museum uses throughout the year to offset monthly expenses.  The museum has an awesome website for anyone looking for ancestors in Shelby County.  So check the site out at http://www.shelbycountytexashistory.net.
