May 30, 2024 - The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southwestern Caddo Parish in northwestern Louisiana, Western De Soto Parish in northwestern Louisiana, Northern Shelby County in eastern Texas, Panola County in northeastern Texas until 11:30pm CDT.
At 8:31pm CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Shreveport, Carthage, Center, Mansfield, Stonewall, Logansport, Tenaha, Timpson, Joaquin, Deberry, South Mansfield, Gary City, Keachi, Grand Cane, Longstreet, Stanley, Deadwood, Front, Midyett and Paxton.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
