May 22, 2026 - Shelbyville High School introduces the graduating class of 2026. Commencement ceremonies will be held at 7pm Friday, May 22, 2026. The ceremony will be held in the main gym.
Travis Caporali - Valedictorian
Travis was no stranger to competing at the state level and over the years earned multiple state titles. He was a bronze medalist and a state runner-up in CX debate, a two-time state medalist (7th and 6th place) in Congressional Debate, a state runner-up in Poetry Interpretation, and the Informative Extemporaneous Speaking state champion. Travis is a firm believer in not having an elaborate plan for the future because, as a human being, he will grow and evolve, and the plans he has set for himself might change. That being said, he is majoring in public relations at the University of Texas at Austin, and once there, he hopes to find a truly fulfilling career. Travis says one thing he knows for a fact is, "Yo crearé mi propio camino." (I will create my own path.)
Bailee Bohannon - Salutatorian
During Bailee's time at Shelbyville High School, she was an Academic Honor Roll student for all four years of her high school career. She has been a member of the Future Farmers of America for five years where in 2023 she held the position of being the Treasurer and in 2024 the Vice President. Bailee competed in Livestock Judging and FFA Quiz for three years. She has been on the Varsity Cheer Team for four years and was named Academic All-State Cheerleader. She also was named UCA All-American Cheerleader in 2023. Bailee and the other cheerleaders competed in the UIL State Spirit Competition from 2023-2026 where they placed 10th, 8th, 15th, and 12th of almost 90 teams total. Additionally, Bailee holds the honor of being crowned the 2025 Homecoming Queen. She was on the Volleyball team for four years and has been named Academic All District in 2023-2025. Bailee also won Second Team All District in 2024 and 2025. At Senior Prom in 2026, she won Prom Queen and was named Ms SHS. After graduation, Bailee will attend Stephen F. Austin University to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Science and Disorders. Upon earning her bachelor’s degree, she intends to continue her education in graduate school to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.
