Shelbyville HS Senior Trey Smith Medals at 2A UIL Non-Speech State Meet

May 5, 2021 - Trey Smith has been competing in academic UIL since he was in elementary school. As a freshman, he placed third in Accounting, was a member of the second place Accounting team, and competed at the 2A Academic UIL Regional Meet in Accounting.

His sophomore year, at district he placed first in Number Sense, first in Mathematics, was a member of the first place Number Sense and Mathematics teams, and second place Accounting team. At the regional meet, he placed first as an individual in Number Sense, was a member of the first place Number Sense team and competed at the state meet.

This year at the district meet, he placed first in Number Sense, second in Mathematics, was a member of the first place Number Sense team and second place Mathematics team. At the regional meet, Trey placed first in Number Sense and was a member of the first place Number Sense team.

At the 2A Academic UIL Non-Speech State Meet, Trey placed fifth in Number Sense and was a member of the third place Number Sense team. He is the first Shelbyville High School student to earn a state medal in Number Sense.
