Shelbyville I.S.D. Accepting Student Transfers for S.W. Carter Elementary Only

April 14, 2025 - Parents of students living outside Shelbyville Independent School District who wish their children to attend Shelbyville Schools during the 2025-2026 school year must request transfer no later than June 2, 2025.

There will be no new student transfers for Middle School and High School for the 2025-2026 school year (grades 6 through 12).

Shelbyville One Act Play Advances to Area Competition

April 10, 2025 - Shelbyville One Act Play advances to UIL Area competition this Saturday, April 12 at Union Grove High School in Union Grove. Performances begin at 10:00 am.

A one-time admission fee of $5 admits audience members to all six shows. Shelbyville performs last at approximately 2:30pm; shows run back to back with no set time.

The players will perform scenes from Lend Me a Soprano, a farce by Ken Ludwig.

Shelbyville High School UIL Academic Team Captures District Championship

March 31, 2025 - Shelbyville High School competed at the District 24AA University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic Spring Meet held on March 27th at Stephen F. Austin State University. Shelbyville competitors scored in nineteen academic contests, qualified twenty-five students for the Region III-AA Academic UIL Meet, scored 756.5 total points and captured the District Championship.

Dragon Band to Compete in UIL Concert, Sightreading Competition

March 31, 2025 - The Shelbyville Dragon Band will be competing in the UIL Concert and Sightreading evaluation processes this Wednesday, April 2nd. This competition includes two parts, a stage performance and a sight reading evaluation. Both stages of this process are judged by separate three person panels. The object of this competition is to demonstrate superior musicianship and musical understanding as a large ensemble.

Shelbyville HS Students to Compete in District 24AA Academic UIL Spring Meet

March 10, 2025 - High school students in Shelbyville ISD will compete for top honors during the 2025 District 24AA UIL Academic Spring Meet to be held March 27 at SFASU.

The UIL Academic District Meets bring students together to compete in over 23 college level academic contests that cover every aspect of classroom curriculum. These students meet rigorous scholastic requirements in order to voluntarily compete in UlL academics. Contestants compete for individual honors while schools compete for the district championship.
