Shelbyville ISD Teacher of the Week: Crystal Harrison

October 12, 2018 - The Shelbyville Varsity Football team selected Crystal Harrison as Teacher of the Week.

Teacher of the Week, Crystal Harrison has been teaching for fourteen years and seven of those years have been in Shelbyville. She wanted to teach at Shelbyville because she wanted to work in a small school and wanted her son to attend a small school as well. Along with teaching Algebra II and Physics, she is a senior class sponsor and the UIL math and calculator coach. Some of her hobbies include, reading, activities with her son, and taking care of their animals. Her biggest role models are two awesome math teachers she had while in school. The best part of working at Shelbyville are the class sizes and the people she works with. She wishes that her students took from her class that it is important to find a purpose in life, even if it doesn't involve Algebra II or Physics. Life will always include problems which can be solved much like an equation. She said it is a neat tradition and it is exciting to be selected this morning as teacher of the week; even if she was the last "Harrison."
