May 16, 2016 - This past weekend on Saturday May 14th students from the Shelbyville Dragon Band middle school program competed at Solo and Ensemble contest held at Carthage High School. At the end of the contest a new record of 43 medals earned was set by students who received First Division ratings. The students that earned First Division medals are as follow:

Clarinet: Naomi Caporali, Kendall Florence, Makayja Horton, Lexi Fleming and
Aubrey Dow
Bass Clarinet: Lyla Turner
Alto Saxophone: Kurjuan Allen, Shiloh Amburn, Myla Wagstaff, Laka Sanders, Rachel Powell and Savannah Spann
French Horn: Sydney Edgar
Trumpet: Kate Lawson, Brenda Bautista, Neena Smith, Kayla White, Maisey Swindle, Mallory Permenter, Ashley Harkness and Kirsti Jernigan
Euphonium: Dawson Jackson, Ethan Wood, JaKory Stanley, Jimmy Jimenez and JaKaitlon Bolton
