Sibling Rivalry Develops Into Traffic Incident

June 13, 2017 - Emergency personnel were notified at 2:26pm of a crash on Hurst Street involving two pickup trucks and a trailer Monday, June 12, 2017 which developed from an incident between brothers in a parking lot.

The trailer was detached from the vehicle which had been hauling it and it remained in the outside traffic lane some distance from the intersection of FM 138 (Arcadia Road). Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Renfro was first to arrive and he held the scene until additional officers could arrive.

According to Center Police Officer Chris King, following an altercation between two individuals in the Walmart parking lot on Hurst Street, it continued onto the roadway as the vehicles left together traveling south on Hurst Street. Joshua Fuller, 31, of Center was traveling in a Ford F-150 pulling a trailer when he passed a white Chevrolet Silverado driven by Justin Fuller, 28, of Center, which was also southbound with passenger Victoria Fuller, 22.

As the Ford overtook the Chevrolet, Joshua Fuller swerved the trailer he was hauling into the Chevrolet causing damage to the left front quarter panel of the Chevrolet and causing the trailer to detach from the Ford, leaving it in the roadway.

Both vehicles were on the southbound shoulder of the road when officers arrived. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Joshua Fuller was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. Joshua Fuller's truck was towed from the scene.

The trailer was allowed to be towed home by its owner.
