April 8, 2022 - State Loop (SL) 500 at the intersection with Haley Drive was the scene of a two-vehicle crash Thursday, April 7, 2022.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene of the incident, the vehicles involved were on opposite sides of the roadway and a distance from one another.
According to Center Police Officer Brian Wright, at just before 9am a white 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Lucas Langlois, 44, of Shreveport with passenger Justin Harris, 19, of Keithville was southbound in the direction of U.S. Highway 96 South.
At that time a black 2006 Ford Escape driven by Darlene Mitchell, 71, of Shelbyville was exiting Haley Drive onto SL 500 and failed to yield right of way to the Dodge forcing it to strike the Ford on the left rear quarter panel.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and no citations were issued at the time of the crash.
Several Center Police Department officers were on scene to assist with traffic control, as well as the Center Fire Department.
