State Highway 7 East Scene of Crash in Lone Cedar

May 3, 2019 - State Highway 7 East was the scene of a two-vehicle crash incident in the Lone Cedar area which caused major damage to one vehicle and caused extended traffic delays. 

The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was on scene diverting traffic around the crash location and helped prevent further incidents.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, at 6:05pm a a green 2003 Ford Focus wagon driven by Linda Ann Blount, 67, of Center was eastbound on State Highway 7 when she slowed to let other motorists pass as she was preparing to turn left into a private driveway.

Roderick Dwayne Walker, 42, of Mansfiield, LA driving a white 2018 Dodge 2500 owned by KLX Energy Service hauling a flat bed trailer was passing as other vehicles had done before him in the westbound lane, and the Ford turned left into the trailor.

Both the Ford and the trailer received damage from the collision; however, no one recived any injury. Blount received a citation for turn when unsafe.
