December 9, 2019 - Citizens of Shelby County, my name is Stevie Smith and I am a Republican announcing my candidacy for Commissioner, Precinct 3.
I was born and raised in Shelby County and have lived in Joaquin since 1980 with my wife of 39 years, Terri Coulter Smith. Terri and I have two married children and two grandchildren all living in Joaquin, Rick and Kristen Chumley and their daughters, Preslee and Remi, and Cole and Bailee Smith. Our parents, also of Shelby County, are Lamar and Ruth Smith of Patroon and Jim and Barbara Coulter of Joaquin. I am a member of Haslam Baptist Church and the Joaquin Masonic Lodge.
My 40 years of managing my own welding and construction business, along with my hard-working values, gives me the knowledge and experience for the decisions required for county government. I will be a strong voice for the citizens of Precinct 3 and will be diligent in making the best decisions for our community and improving our roads. If elected, I pledge to be honest, fair, dependable and put all my efforts into being a good and trusted Commissioner for Precinct 3.
