Strong Heart, Strong Women Luncheon

January 29, 2026 - In recognition of American Heart Health Month, women in the community are invited to attend a special Strong Heart Strong Women presentation and luncheon on Thursday, February 12th from 11am until 2pm at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office. The event is sponsored by the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office.

This informative event will focus on women’s heart health including risk factors, prevention, lifestyle habits and practical steps women can take to protect their hearts at every age. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women and this program aims to empower attendees with knowledge that could save lives.

The featured speaker is Dr. Erica Fidone, a Board certified interventional cardiologist and staunch patient advocate. Professionally, she is most proud of helping to improve the quality of life for her patients and is passionate about dedicating the time each patient need during their appointments. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.

Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose and BMI checks will be offered between 11am to 12 noon and again at 1pm to 2pm. A healthy food demonstration and lunch will begin at 12 noon. Dr. Fidone will speak at 12:15pm.

This event is about education, encouragement and reminding women to make their own health a priority.
