April 29, 2019 - When the dog days of summer hit you and your kids, wouldn't it be "cool" to have some place "cool" to go. Something different to do in Center and not having to drive out of town. Something to look forward to each week that will stimulate and grow the minds of each student, guaranteed. Something you will enjoy and dare we say, never forget!
Why not consider Art. That's right, ART. No cell phones and video games here, stimulating, hands on, fun, interesting and exciting art lessons like your not use to seeing. David Masterson, artist at the Davmar Gallery fully engages the students with Art. He and his team take students through a series of art mediums over a 6 week course - painting, sculpture and ceramics. Taught by a art professor from France at SMU in Dallas in the late 60's at a very early age, David still remembers those days at art class. Now with over 60 hours art study at SFA, numerous awards and shows, David the Davmar Gallery look to continue that journey of art exploration with anyone that wants to try
Summer classes will cover expressive painting, wood and stone sculpture and ceramics, an introduction to the wheel and slab building. We will provide everything you will need. Class size will be limited to 8 students per class max. Age groups range from 3-6, 7-10, 11-14, 16-18 and adult. The summer study is based on the age of the students and the class interests. At the end of the summer we will have student shows at the gallery showing the different projects completed over the course.
So, why not? A mind stretched by new ideas never regains its original dimensions. This is a fact. Fueling imagination and creativity can add so much to a persons life in all aspects, young and old alike!

- Class is 1.5 hours long
