Update 3:45pm: Swepco reports power has been restored to around 3,000 customers at approximately 3:20pm on Friday, January 12 in the Center area. The cause of the outage is suspected to be a lightning strike of a piece of equipment at the SWEPCO Substation on Hwy 7 East causing it to fail and resulting in the outage. January 12, 2024 - Swepco reports a power outage in Center affecting 993 customers. The power outage occurred at 11:08am. At this time, Swepco is unable to provide an estimated time of restoration for the outage.
