Tenaha Man Arrested Following Alleged Threats

April 18, 2023 - A Tenaha man was arrested Tuesday, April 18, 2023, following alleged threats.

During the day Tuesday, April 18, 2023, law enforcement officials received information about threats after parents had reached out to them due to potential threats on social media against Tenaha ISD. Through investigation, it was determined by law enforcement officials their suspect was Joe Adams of Tenaha. Officials presented evidence of the situation to a judge and were granted a warrant for Adams. 

As the investigation progressed, it was learned by officers that Adams had been involved in an altercation with someone in Panola County and he was back en-route to Shelby County. Officers intercepted Adams on FM 947 and he initially didn’t stop. A pursuit of Adams developed until he stopped at his residence on Motley Street in Tenaha where officers took him into custody around 3pm.

Agencies involved in the investigation and arrest include Taylor Fanguy, Constable Precinct 4; Tenaha Police Department; Tenaha ISD Police Department; Roy Cheatwood, Constable Precinct 3; Josh Tipton, Constable Precinct 5; Zack Warr, Constable Precinct 1; Jamie Hagler, Constable Precinct 2; and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department Deputies.
