Tenaha's Ramirez Edges Out Competition for Cross Country State Gold

November 1, 2025 - Tenaha's Adrian Ramirez edges out Bosqueville's Cristiano Tinoco to win the 2A Cross Country Championship Saturday in Round Rock, Texas.

Tenaha’s Cross Country team competed in the UIL State Cross Country Championships for 2A on November 1, 2025 and senior runner Adrian Ramirez won 1st place out of 152 runners. With an overall pace of 5:14/M. Ramirez’s times were 5:03.2 at 1 mile, 10:21.4 at 2 miles, and 16:14.6 finish time for the 5K to win the gold.

Ramirez advanced to state all four years of his high school cross country career. His 9th grade year he placed 5th at state with a 17:17.5 overall finish time. His 10th grade year he place 14th, however, his time improved to 16:49.3. His 11th grade year he placed 9th with a time of 17:04.3. The journey to state each year makes his final year and 1st place victory even better as he also set a new personal record.

Six additional Tenaha runners competed in the State Championship with Ramirez. They were David Loredo, Marco Gonzalez, Anthony Sanchez, Carter Duncan, Carlos Lara Cervantes, and Jhostyn Lopez. Congratulations Tenaha Tigers!
