April 24, 2015 - Center Garden Club members Linda Bordelon, (shown with Incoming Texas Garden Clubs State President Carol Moore and Texas State President Sarah McReynolds), Carolyn Bounds, Alison Scull, Robbie Kerr, Judy Matthews, Jackie Hancock, Shirley Owens, and Cherry Jones attended the Youth Awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 22, at the 87th Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. Spring Convention in Tyler, Texas.
Center High School Senior Kelsie Waller, who was sponsored by the Center Garden Club, read her 1st place speech and was awarded $500. Other Center Garden Club state youth winners were as follows:
4th Grade Sculpture Honorable Mention from Center Elementary - Eric Allen, Darin Livingston, Astra Lee, and Alaisha Garrett
5th Grade Sculpture Honorable Mention from Center Elementary - Skyler Causey, Seth Shamblin, Wyatt Stone, and Emilee Elliott
