Three-Vehicle Crash at SH7, CR 1145 (Updated)

June 13, 2019 - State Highway 7 West and CR 1145 was the scene of a three-vehicle crash Thursday, June 13, 2019.

The Center Fire Department responded to the scene, along with members of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department to assist those involved in the crash.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Jesse Fountain, at 5:45pm a grey 2018 Kia Forte driven by Dezmond Tyrel Daniels, 22, was westbound on State Highway 7 West. At that time a grey 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Jonathan Gary Davis, 38, of Center was also westbound and was preparing to turn right onto CR 1145.

Daniels failed to control speed behind Davis and the Kia struck the rear of the Chevrolet, which subsequently was propeled forward by the impact and the truck then collided with a white 2015 Jeep Wrangler driven by Mathew Allen, 56, of Center and pushed it into a ditch and over a stop sign.
 

                        

Daniels was transported by ambulances to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for treatment of minor injuries and was later released. He was issued a citation for failure to control speed.

All vehicles were towed from the crash location.
