Three Vehicles Collide on Tenaha Street, Two Sent to ER

May 5, 2019 - Tenaha Street was the scene of a three-vehicle collision which sent two men invlolved to the emergency room Thursday, May 2, 2019. 

According to Center Police Officer Robert Lee, at 7:40am a blue 2001 Ford Ranger driven by Young Jackson, 65, of Center was attempting to travel from Childs Street across Tenaha Street to Foster Street.

Jackson failed to yield right of way to a red 2003 Ford Focus driven by Antonio Yarbrough, 36, of Center which was southbound on Tenaha Street. The Focus struck the passenger side of the Ranger and caused the truck to spin into another vehicle.

The other vehicle was a silver 2018 Nissan Armada driven by Anacari Gutierrez, 29, of Center which was sitting at the Foster and Tenaha Streets intersection. 

Jackson and Yarbrough were transported by ambulance to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department for treatment of possible injuries. 

Yarbrough was issued citations for no driver's license and unsafe speed. Jackson was issued citations for driving while license invalide and failure to yield right of way.

The Ranger and the Focus were towed from the location, and the Armada was able to be drive away.

The Center Police Officers were assisted at the scene by officers of the Texas Department of Public Safety and Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Center Fire Department Firemen were dispatched to the scene to extricate one driver from his vehicle; however, and extrication turned out to not be necessary.
