November 16, 2023 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the above-named City will be held on the 21st day of November, 2023 at 5:30 pm at Timpson City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:
1. Call to Order
2. Invocation
3. Pledge: United States Pledge, Texas Pledge
4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
5. Presentations & Recognitions:
6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the city Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.
7. Department/Committee Reports:
A. Public Works Report: Larry Burns
B. City Secretary: The 3rd St. bridge project is scheduled to begin the first week of December. There will not be a Regular City Council Meeting in December and all regular monthly bills will be paid as usual and presented at the January Council meeting. The city will have 2 Council Members and the Mayor seat up for the May 4, 2024 General Election. Candidate packets will be available for pick up at City Hall January 17th thru February 16th.

REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS (9-14)
9. Discuss and take action: Discuss and select contractor from the bids received to replace floors, baseboards, trim and ceiling painted at City Hall.
10. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for Frank Campos to remain at the City’s auditor for FY 2022-2023.
11. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval to replace water line on 2nd to Archie St and to select contractor from received bids.
12. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider quote for new John Deere tractor and hydraulic boom.
13. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider payment up to $5,000 to Techline for the purchase of safety equipment and tools for the electric department.
14. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for the City Secretary, Mayor, Constable’s office and Law Offices of Carey Bovey to update various City Ordinances for enforcement through the county, via the mutual aid agreement between the City of Timpson and Shelby County, including but not limited to: Weeds, Junk Vehicles, Squatters, Littering, Loitering, Leash Law, Tires and Rubbish, ATV and other off-road vehicles.
