January 16, 2025 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the City of Timpson will be held on the 21st day of January, 2025 at 5:30pm at Timpson City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:

4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.
5. Presentations & Recognitions: Recognize the Timpson ISD Board Members as part of School Board Appreciation Month.
6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the city Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.

9. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of the Notice of a General Election, May 3, 2025, to notify voters of time, date and location of the election.
10. Discuss and take action: Discuss and approve Ordinance No. 20250121-002 Ordering an election to be held May 3rd, 2025, General Election day, for the three council seats, for the 2025-2027 term.
11. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of the Notice of a Special Election, May 3, 2025, to notify voters of time, date and location of the election
12. Discuss and take action: Discuss and approve Ordinance 01212025-001 Ordering a special election in the City of Timpson held in conjunction with the City's regular General Election to be held on May 3, 2025, for the purpose of submitting a proposition to the qualified voters of Timpson, Texas for the Legal sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages.
13. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval of the Inter local Agreement between Timpson ISD and the City of Timpson to hold a General Election May 3, 2025.
14. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for the Mayor to secure staff (Assistant judge and clerks) for early voting and election day. Budget not to exceed $2500.00
15. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for the City of Timpson to pay Shelby County to provide election equipment, ballots and signage for May election. Est. $1500.00
16. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for the City of Timpson to donate funds toward the purchase of a County vehicle for the Assistant Deputy Constable to use for conducting the duties associated with his position. (council to set limit)
17. Discuss and take action: Items for Timpson Volunteer Fire Department
a. Purchase ofCascade System to be paid for out of City funds, TVFD funds and possible grant funds.
b. approve funds for hotel expense for Livingston Fire School Training
c. approve expense for Tires for Truck #1 - early summer. Will get quotes
d. approve purchase of Gear through TVFD Budget, funds will be reimbursed through SFFMA. Reimbursement requires purchase and physical
18. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider special consideration for a utility bill extension or payment plan to avoid cut-oft
19. Discuss and take action: Consider approval for Tamara Parker to be added to all vendor, banking, credit card and grant portals as finance contact and authorizing her to conduct city business with these entities and to REMOVE Misty Burgess from same.

The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this agenda whenever it is considered necessary and is legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.
