Timpson Frontier Days Kicks-Off with Full House, Festival Schedule

July 1, 2016 - The Timpson Frontier Days is underway with a full house attending the Gospel Singing at First Baptist Church of Timpson. 

Extra chairs were brought and lined the walls as the pews were full. The audiance enjoyed performances by The Calvary Boys, Calvary Boys Trio, Grounded and The Master's Men.

The carnival also started Thursday with festival goers enjoying themselves downtown.

Festival Schedule

Carnival Armbands for each night sold separately $15 in advance good for one night only at the carnival $18 per night at the gate. These can be purchased at the Timpson Public Library.

Friday, July 1st
Entertainment Downtown - Bring your lawn chairs, enjoy the music & do some dancing if you like.

6pm to 10pm - Carnival (Armband tickets honored)
6pm to 7:30pm - Curtis Daniel
7:30pm - Faith's Journey 

Saturday, July 2nd
Open with entertainment on stage throughout the day!

10am - Parade (In the parade? Line up in front of school at 9am. Everyone is welcome to participate.)
Best Decorated Bicycle, 12 & under only - 1st Prize $100, 2nd Prize $50, 3rd Prize $25
Frontier Days Theme Floats - Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

Immediately following parade

  • Pet Show 
  • Car Show (on back street immediately following parade. Contact David Pate 936-554-7211.) - 1st Prize $500, 2nd Prize $250, & Trophies (Everyone is welcome to enter, we would like you to participate in the Parade, after the Parade, drive to back street for Car Show.)

11am - Opening Ceremony, welcome, prayer, introduction of guest, 2016 Cowboy of Year Award from Each Town
11am - Food and craft booths. Open with entertainment on stage throughout the day
11am - Washer Board Tournament (For cash prize. Contact Tracy Rucker 936-615-5360, $10 per Team, 80% First Place, 20% Second Place)
6pm to 10pm - Carnival (Armband tickets honored)
6pm - Twirlers & Cheerleaders
7pm - Curtis Daniel Live Entertainment
8pm - Cake Auction
Following Cake Auction - Street Dance with Leaving Sundown performing

** Clown in the streets all day / Magic Shows / Greased Pig Contest / Pea Shelling & Sexy Legs Contest / Best Peach Cobler Contest and Much More 

Sunday, July 3rd

7pm - Sunday Community Service, under the Big Tent Downtown. Bring your lawn chairs and hear Bro Ronnie Sowell, pastor at Good Hope Baptist, deliver the message and music provided by Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
