May 19, 2025 - Timpson High School introduces the graduating class of 2025. Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Timpson ISD Event Center on Friday, May 23 at 8pm.
The Timpson High School Class of 2025 Valedictorian is Sydney Shout who is the daughter of Spencer and Danice Shout. She will be attending Cornell University to pursue a degree in Entomology. Her achievements and honors include obtaining an Associate of Science in General Studies from Panola College, Elanco Fundamentals of Animal Science certification, TISD “3R Award,” winning the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Essay Contest winner, All A Honor Roll, Voted Most Likely to Succeed and Most Dependable by Peers, Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce member, TISD Blood Drive Committee member, Yearbook Club member, Beta Club chapter Secretary, TISD International Club President, TISD Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society President, FFA Chapter President and previous FFA District Sentinel, competitor in various FFA events including Creed Speaking, FFA Quiz, Ag Issues, Radio Broadcasting, Prepared Public Speaking, Ag Service Proficiency Award, and Entomology Career Development Event, placing 5th at State and 1st at Area for the past three years, steer and heifer exhibitor through 4-H and FFA placing highly at all major shows and the Shelby County Livestock Show, and UIL competitor in Spelling and Vocabulary, Literary Criticism, Mathematics, and Number Sense, placing 1st at District in Spelling and Vocabulary every year of high school and advancing to State for the past two years.
Ashton Raines is the Timpson High School Class of 2025 Salutatorian. She is the daughter of John and Angela Raines and the granddaughter of Jeanette and the late Oswald Murphy, as well as the late Buck and Judy Raines. Throughout high school, she has been actively involved in several organizations, including One-Act Play, where she earned two All-Star Cast awards, FCCLA, Mu Alpha Theta, BETA Club, and UIL Academics, and advanced to the regional level in multiple events. Additionally, Raines will be graduating with an associate degree from Panola College. Outside of school, she is an active member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where she enjoys participating in events like Trunk ‘R Treat and using her creativity to decorate the car. She also enjoys expressing herself through painting, crafts, and singing. This fall, Ashton is excited to begin the next chapter of her life at Texas A&M University, where she will major in Engineering.
