December 13, 2023 - Texas Transportation Commissioners met Tuesday in Austin and approved more than $850 million in new construction projects statewide, with $11.1 million approved for the nine-county Lufkin District.
Trinity County was approved for a $9 million project that is earmarked for road resurfacing on US 287 from SH 94 to FM 355. Texas Materials Group, Inc., Cedar Park, TX, will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for completion has been set.
Nacogdoches County was approved for a $2 million bridge replacement on CR 526 at LaNana Bayou. THK Construction LLC, Longview, TX, will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for completion has been set.
These projects will begin and timelines will be established after pre-construction meetings are held in the district. As work begins, signage and message boards will be set in the work zones. Motorists should prepare to reduce speed, observe possible delays, detours and obey all traffic control.
