April 20, 2022 - Texas Transportation Commissioners met Wednesday in Austin and approved more than 253.1 million for construction projects statewide, with more than $28.3 million approved for the Lufkin District.
Houston County was approved for a $27.8 million bridge replacement project on SH 21 at the Trinity River. A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., Buffalo TX, will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for completion has been set.
Also approved, was a $523,712 project designated for bridge maintenance in various locations throughout the nine-county Lufkin District. Talbran Enterprises, LLC, Frisco TX, will serve as contractor for the project. No timeline for completion has been set.
Pre-construction meetings will be scheduled for these projects prior to construction or work beginning. Motorists are urged to stay alert as signs and traffic control is set announcing work at these locations.
