Tri-County's "Harvest for Homes" Receives $2,500 Donation

January 21, 2016 - Tri-County Community Action (TCCA) was the recipient of a $2,500 donation from Whataburger to benefit their food pantry program, "Harvest for Homes".

Presenting the donation on Wednesday, January 20th was Maci Dover, Whataburger Director of Marketing, and Kali Rocco, Whataburger Community Engagement Coordinator. Accepting the donation on behalf of the food pantry was Yolanda Neal, TCCA Executive Administrative Assistant, and Brenda Allen, TCCA Social Services Director.

"Harvest for Homes" is located at 2014 Nacogdoches Street in Center. Residents of Shelby County may be eligible to receive food assistance and are required to provide proof of residency and income verification. Each household can be served once every 30 days.

TCCA partnered with the East Texas Food Bank in August of 2014 starting the "Harvest for Homes" food pantry to take part in trying to eliminate hunger within our communities. Whataburger is donating to partners of the East Texas Food Bank. The donation was raised during December 2015 Whataburger community fundraiser which was held at 41 Whataburger locations across East Texas along with a two-week paper ornament sale. In addition to fundraising, nine Whataburger locations held food drives and collected more than 12,000 pounds of food.

The franchise groups include Whataburger of East Texas, G.V.C.S., Inc., Hablinski Investments, Inc., DKT Investments, Inc., and Lott Foods, Inc.
