Truck Collides with Utility Pole on Nacogdoches Street in Center

December 10, 2021 - Nacogdoches Street was the scene of a single-vehicle crash Friday, December 10, 2021, between Martin Street and Sandel Street in Center.

Immediately following the incident, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies Misty Ray and Chad Hooper responded after hearing the collision. The deputies held the scene until Center Police Department and Center Fire Department personnel arrived.

According to Center Police Officer Bubba Lee, at around 9am a blue 2013 Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Zack Belrose, 31, of Center was westbound on Nacogdoches Street. Belrose failed to control speed and the truck collided with a utility pole with the front left of the truck.

As a result of the collision the pole was snapped in half and left hanging from power lines above the truck.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and no citations were issued at the time of the crash.

Once the truck was removed, utility crews worked at replacing the pole and reconnecting lines throughout the day.
