U.S. 96 Scene of Single-Vehicle Crash (Updated)

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a single-vehicle crash on US 96 yesterday afternoon, about two miles north of Center.

US Highway 96 North was the scene of a single-vehicle crash Thursday, March 14, 2019. Emergency personnel responded to the scene to direct traffic and assist with the driver while Texas DPS investigated the incident, which occurred at the entrance of Cedar Creek housing development just over two miles north of Center. 

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Jesse Fountain at approximately 4:20pm, a grey 2014 Dodge passenger car driven by William Nash Jr., 46, of Center was southbound on US Highway 96 when the Dodge drove off the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail head-on.

Nash was transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center - Shelby Emergency Department in Center for possible treatment.
