Vigil Claims Wing-It Glory During 48th Annual ETPF (Video Added)

October 5, 2024 - The East Texas Poultry Festival Wing-It competition names Adam Vigil of Huxley the 2024 Wing-it Champion.

Three contestants felt the burn as they exposed their digestive systems to some of the hottest pepper sauces in existence to the sheer joy of audience members.

Each were presented with four wings per plate, which of course were heavily bathed in sauce. The contest reached the fourth round. First with Red Hot buffalo sauce, then Ghost pepper sauce, followed by Scorpion pepper sauce, and finally reaching Carolina Reaper sauce.

Although he hung in the competition for the majority of three rounds, the Scorpion sting apparently won out over William Jacobs, who bowed out during that portion of the competition and bestowing "Scorpion King" rights to his fellow opponents.

During the Carolina Reaper phase, Clayton Buske finally relented, and Vigil claimed the win.

After the dust settled, Vigil exclaimed, "My boogers are hot!" If that gives you an idea of what kind of challenge it was.
