Wagstaff Announces Candidacy for Precinct 3 Constable

December 23, 2015 - I would like to take the time to introduce myself to the citizens of Shelby County. My name is Jimmy Wagstaff. I am a candidate for Shelby County Precinct 3 Constable on the Republican ticket.

I was born and raised in Shelby County. I currently live in Joaquin. I am married to my wife of 17 years Stefanie and we have 4 wonderful children, Britney Pridgen, Jeremy, Lacy and Joshua.

I am a 1989 graduate of Joaquin High School. I attended Angelina College Police Academy in 2000. After graduation, from the police academy, I started my law enforcement career with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in 2001. Since starting my law enforcement career I have worked for several law enforcement agencies in Shelby County. I have held positions of patrolman, investigator and detective. I currently serve as the City Marshal for the City of Tenaha, and part time as courthouse security for Shelby County. For the past three years I have owned a civil process company, which civil process is a large part of a constable’s job.

I hold an Advanced Peace Officer license. I am a TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) instructor, a certified firearms instructor and a certified county jailer, along with numerous other certificates I have obtained throughout my career.

I am qualified and able to fulfill the duties of a Texas Constable. I am fair and impartial. I will make myself available to the citizens of precinct 3. I will work closely with all local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as emergency medical personnel and fire departments.

Thanks for your consideration.

Jimmy Wagstaff
