This Week at The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA “Remembering Columbia” Museum

February 10, 2016 - In case anyone is wondering, the shuttle that was on the outside in front of the museum was taken down for repair.  It has been on display and the weather has weathered it to the point it needs repairing.  We hope to have it back up soon.

We have had a busy January at the museum. We had a total of 92 visitors that came through the museum.  They came from 12 different states to visit the museum. Sunday was a beautiful day for riding around and enjoying the sunshine.  A corvette group from Lufkin, Texas made the journey to Sabine County and stopped by the museum.  We enjoyed sharing our museum with this group and look forward to their return.

We also have an amazing gift shop full of really nice gifts. You will find items for children and adults alike, such as 3D space puzzles, space suit back packs, inflatable space shuttles, NASA ties & golf balls, space ice cream, coffee mugs and drinking glasses to name a few of the items.

We encourage our many students and schools, including home schoolers, to take advantage of our Digital Learning Network system. Contact the museum to get your classroom set up for our Digital Learning Network or any questions or concerns; you can contact us at (409) 787-4827.

The hours of operation for the Patricia Huffman Smith NASA “Remembering Columbia” Museum are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, however, tours will be given by appointment only on these days.

The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA “Remembering Columbia” Museum is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We appreciate your support.
