WSCVFD, Center FD Join Forces to Fight Fire on CR 1011

April 11, 2017 - The West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department (WSCFVD) and Center Fire Department combined efforts to fight a structure and hay fire on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Lightning was the apparent cause of the fire which caught onto a travel trailer, and hay within a barn the trailer was parked near. To help put the fire out, the firemen removed the hay from inside of the barn to extinguish it outside of the structure.

According to Jerryl Adams, WSCVFD Chief, At 9:01am West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department was paged out to a fire on CR 1011 to the Jessica Smith residence.

A travel trailer and barn were on fire. The travel trailer was a complete loss, but the barn was spared. The fire happened during a lighting storm.

Center Fire Department also responded to the fire. Fire was out and all firemen left at 10:20am.
