May 14, 2021 - Correction: US Flag Code § 7 (m) states "The flag shall be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day, unless that day is also Armed Forces Day."
This year, Saturday, May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day and also Armed Forces Day.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and Auxiliary encourage you to proudly fly your flag at full staff on this day in honor of both Peace Officers memorial Day and Armed Forces Day.
May 5, 2021 - In honor of Loyalty Day, VFW 8904 and Auxiliary members changed out the US Flag at the Senior Nutrition Center, Loop 500, Center. The post donated and installed the flagpole in 2015 and have provided a new flag every year since on Loyalty Day.
May 3, 2021 - Each year the World War II Allies remember May 8th, 1945, the date when they accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. Adolf Hitler committed suicide during the Battle of Berlin so the surrender of Germany was authorized by his replacement, President of Germany Karl Donitz.
March 24, 2021 - Today, in accordance with the President's proclamation, all flags on public buildings and grounds should be be lowered to half-staff in remembrance and as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated on March 22, 2021, in Boulder, Colorado, and remain at half-staff until sunset, March 27, 2021. This includes any flags flying with the US Flag.
March 18, 2021 - The President of the United States has issued a proclamation ordering the flag of the United States to be displayed at half-staff from now until sunset on March 22, 2021 as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on March 16, 2021 in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.
