November 21, 2023 - Street improvement work contracted with Drewery Construction by the Street Improvement Corporation of the City was initiated today by a subcontractor without required advance notice to residents and City staff.
Streets obstructed due to construction activities today will be opened for normal traffic by Wednesday evening as not to interfere with regular traffic access during the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend.
April 9, 2021 – The Center City Council will hold a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the multimillion dollar streetscape renewal project Friday, April 9, 2021, at 1:30 pm at Downtown Center.
“Today’s ribbon cutting is the culmination of the hard work of the City Council, the staff, the contractor, and our residents throughout this process,” said Center Mayor, David Chadwick. “We want to welcome the public to help us celebrate this great milestone.”
March 16, 2021 - There is still time to take the City's Broadband Survey. We know that everyone has had other things on their mind the last couple of weeks. If you have not taken the City of Center's Broadband survey, there is still time to make your voice heard.
We need another 200 households to take the survey so we get reliable results.

Calls will be answered Saturday for leak reports or emergency disconnects. If you locate a leak and have issues turning off your water, call our non-emergency number at 936-598-2941.
February 19, 2021 - As the system is being pressurized to restore water citywide, please report any and all obvious or apparent leaks to City Hall at 598-2941. Any leaks, loses or waste will further delay full system operation and ability to remove the boil water notice. Please call if you need to temporarily disconnect your meter because of water leaks.
