Forgive and Forget (By Mike Belgard)

May 31, 2017 - When my mother decided to remarry after my father passed away, I was not necessarily on board with it. My future step-father was about to take on a lady who had five sons, none of which were angels. I remember on several occasions playing "tricks"  on my prospective step father to get him to "go away". I once ran up to him when he came up to pick my mom up in his freshly starched white shirt, and gave him a big hug.

A Dozen things I've Learned from Mothers In My Life +1 (By Mike Belgard)

May 11, 2017 - When I was only eight years old my father passed away. My mother having to fend for herself,  and the five boys she had to raise alone, had to have help taking care of us. So my brothers and I spent a lot of time with our grandmothers. Both of who were widows as well. I learned a lot observing  the actions and words of these women of God. As I reflect back on these pearls of wisdom that they passed on to myself and my brothers, I realize they have carried me through, and kept me out of many difficulties in life.

Joy, Its A State Of The Heart (By Mike Belgard)

May 6, 2017 - There I was. Sitting in a hospital watching , waiting for it to happen. For the first time in my life I was speechless. We were about to have a baby. Oh it wasn't the first time that I had been in a delivery room. I had been there when all my daughters were born. I remembered the joy I experienced with each one. But this was different. This was the first Grandchild. My baby was having a baby. When Noah was born, I'll never forget the feeling of joy that swept over me. Not just happiness, but pure, inexplicable joy.

Why is Grace So Amazing? (By Mike Belgard)

April 20, 2017 - A man I know had gotten ill and ended up in the hospital. After many tests, several days in the hospital, and cardiac stents he was handed a very large bill. He was faced with the dilemma that many people have today of not being able to pay the bill in full. He worked with the hospital on a payment plan and began to try and make payments, but as bills mounted and everyday life expenses took their toll on his monthly income, he found himself in financial trouble. He had run out of options and money.

Peace: A Deep Subject (By Mike Belgard)

April 3, 2017 - Peace, or the lack of it, is a word that we have been hearing a lot about in the news lately. It seems that everyone in the world is angry with one another.  We desperately seek peace. We have diplomats that are trained in trying to broker "peace treaties" between warring countries, and we personally, just want peace in our lives.  So if everybody wants it, and we are constantly seeking it, why does it allude us so?  Where  can we find peace ? That is the question we are going to answer today.

Everybody Loves Good Fruit (By Mike Belgard)

March 20, 2017 - Springtime is upon us and isn't it beautiful. East Texas is ablaze with color. Driving down the highways you can see the woods filled with dogwoods that are in full bloom. Yards filled with beautiful Azaleas and Lillies. Deep green pastures and plowed fields form a patchwork of beauty that makes East Texas one of the most beautiful places on earth. All the trees blooms that capture the eye and add a realization of the magnificence of Gods creation of new life each year.

Slow Down by Mike Belgard

March 1, 2017 - Everybody is in a hurry. We eat at our desk at work, while driving down the road, I've even seen people eating while they walk. We are constantly on the phone either texting, talking, or checking social media. We have microwaves to cook our food faster, cars and planes to get places faster, the internet to get information faster, everything is about doing more in less time. I read a recent study that stated that no other time in history have we had more things to make our lives easier and faster, and yet we have less free time than at any time in history.
