Both Shelbyville and Tenaha High School varsity boy’s basketball teams had back-to-back bi-district playoff elimination games at Cushing High School on Tuesday.

The Shelbyville Dragons came away with a 66-47 win over the West Sabine Tigers in a showdown between District 23 2A third seed and the District 24 second seed.

The Center Lady Roughriders hosted the Timpson Lady Bears in a cross-county varsity softball game on Tuesday. Center took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Sayre Hall reached base on an infield error and was driven in by ShaKaidria Hubbard.

The Center Roughriders hosted the Palestine Wildcats on Tuesday in District 17 4A Girls and Boys varsity basketball games.

The first quarter of the girl’s varsity game saw Palestine build a 14-5 lead. Center outpaced PHS 10 points to 9 in the second quarter but the Lady Wildcats still held an 23-15 lead at the midway intermission.

Gary High School on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 –

The Tenaha Lady Tigers and the Tigers each took District 23 2A varsity basketball wins over Gary High School on Tuesday at Bobcats Gymnasium. The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Bobcats by a 62-31 score. The Tigers boys team defeated the Bobcats by a much narrower 43-40 score.
