Dreka Community Scene of Fatal Shooting Incident

May 12, 2025 - Emergency personnel were dispatched to a residence on the 3000 block of CR 2164 in the Dreka Community in reference to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Just before 3:30pm, officers and emergency medical services were dispatched to the location.

Marla Denby, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, was requested to the scene and she performed the inquest on Mark Wesley Jackson, 52, of Shelbyville, as well as requesting an autopsy.

May 3, 2025 - The unofficial result of the Timpson school election which was held May 3, 2025, for two positions has ended with a tie for the second position for two candidates involved, Carlos Johnson and Cody Beckham.
