East Texas Communities Foundation Announces Scholarships Available for East Texas Students

January 7, 2025 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline for submission of the online application is March 1, 2025. Harris Fund Accepting Applications from Shelby County Nonprofits

July 11, 2024 - The John Harris Community Fund held at East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) in Tyler, Texas, will be accepting grant applications now through 5pm July 15, 2024. 

“John Reagan Harris was a generous benefactor, giving both his time and his resources to many groups and worthy causes in and around Center,” said Kyle Penney, President of East Texas Communities Foundation.

ETCF On Track For Largest Granting Year

December 17, 2021 - East Texas Communities Foundation is on track to achieve their highest granting year on record by awarding more than $17 million to over 700 different nonprofit organizations.

“ETCF is honored to connect generosity with need,” said Kyle Penney, President of East Texas Communities Foundation. “Thanks to the support of our donors, and the work of dedicated and talented nonprofits, we are able to fund solutions that address community needs.”

ETCF Recognizes Center High School Students with Scholarship

May 11, 2021 - East Texas Communities Foundation has named Center High School (CHS) graduates Baileigh Barrera, Angel Garcia and Kristen Orsak as recipients of the John Harris Scholarship.

Miss Barrera plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in the fall focusing on a career in accounting. Miss Barrera was active in volleyball, softball, National Honor Society and was a member of the yearbook staff as a student at Center High School.

$2.7 Million Raised for Area Nonprofits through East Texas Giving Day

April 28, 2021 - Nonprofits in East Texas benefited from the generosity of more than 5,838 donors during East Texas Giving Day, the region’s recognized day of giving to support local nonprofits.

The online fundraising effort began at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27th, and ended at midnight. Based on preliminary results, donors contributed $2,790,533 to support the causes they care about in 32 East Texas counties.

East Texas Communities Foundation Announces Scholarships Available for East Texas Students

December 17, 2020 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for seventy-seven scholarships to be awarded for the 2021-2022 academic year. To assist applicants determine which scholarships they are most likely eligible for, ETCF has provided a time-saving matching tool. All scholarship hopefuls should use the General Matching Tool while students majoring in visual arts, art history, music, music education, theater, or dance should also use the Arts Matching Tool.
