Severe Thunderstorm Warning Includes Portions of Shelby County (Updated)

May 2, 2019 - (Update 10:22pm): Significant Weather Advisory for Western De Soto and Southwestern Caddo Parishes, Northeastern Panola and Northeastern Shelby Counties until 11pm CDT.

At 10:04pm CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Joaquin to near Beckville. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Tornado Warning Includes Shelby County (Extended to 12-midnight) (Updated at 11:50)

Update: At 1150 PM CDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located near Converse, or 22 miles south of Mansfield, moving northeast at 50 mph.

Update: At 1142 PM CDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located 9miles east of Patroon, or 23 miles southeast of Center, moving northeast at 50 mph.

National Weather Service Severe Thunderstorm Warning (Updated)

At 311 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles north of Shelbyville to 7 miles west of Pineland, moving east at 25 mph.

At 313 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Woodlawn to 6 miles south of Joaquin, moving east at 35 mph.

At 258 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Center to near Rockland, moving east at 30 mph.

At 246 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Longview to near Timpson, moving east at 35 mph.

April 4, 2019 - National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, Norman, Oklahoma issued at 5:35pm CDT on Thursday, April 4, 2019 a severe thunderstorm watch 37 which is in effect until 12 midnight CDT for the following locations: (Texas counties) Angelina, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby and Tyler.

At 5:25pm CDT, a significant weather advisory for west central DeSoto Parish, southeastern Panola and north central Shelby Counties until 6:15pm.
