August 29, 2016 - The 14th ranked Panola College Fillies opened their season with a bang, knocking off 16th ranked Hill College in four sets (18-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-13) and then taking down #15 Missouri St. West Plains (26-24, 10-25, 28-26, and 25-23).
August 23, 2016 - Senior citizens who want to learn more about computer security and privacy issues may want to sign up for CyberSafe, a free class set for Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 6-7 on the Panola College campus in Carthage. The class will meet from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday.
This class is just one of an array of course offerings geared to the community that are on the fall Continuing Education schedule.
August 18, 2016 - M.P. Baker Library, Panola College will host an exhibit by artist Corrine Jones “Altered Books” in the Fay Allison Gallery from September 1- 29, 2016. A reception will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the M.P. Baker Library Foyer.
August 17, 2016 - The Panola College Foundation is excited to announce their Designer Purse Bingo fundraising event on Thursday, October 20th at the John D. Windham Civic Center in Center, Texas. The doors will open at 6:30pm, and the games will begin at 7:00pm. Get ready for a fabulous night playing bingo for a chance to win name brand designer purses.
August 17, 2016 - The M.P. Baker Library will host Remembering 9/11with special speaker Dr. Alex Korniyenko on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Murphy-Payne Community rooms of the library. Dr. Korniyenko is a cardiologist with Tyler Cardiovascular Consultants. He is affiliated with six hospitals in the East Texas area and visits Carthage regularly to see patients at the local ETMC offices. Dr. Korniyenko began his medical career as an EMT with the New York City Fire Department.
August 9, 2016 - The Panola College Workforce and Continuing Education division is offering a Phlebotomy program beginning August 22, 2016. The class meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. on the Carthage Campus. Preregistration is required. August 8, 2016 - On August 18, 2016, Panola County Chamber of Commerce, Panola College Board of Trustees and community members will gather to enjoy refreshments and perform a ribbon cutting at 10:00 am for Panola College’s newly renovated Roy Monk Building. The Roy Monk Building was originally built in 1965, and at that time the Building featured a lecture hall, labs, classrooms, and eight faculty offices.
