December 16, 2016 - The 2nd & 3rd grade classes at Excelsior School enjoyed their afternoon on the Polar Express. Mrs. Jennifer Cecil and Mrs. Alyson Porter hosted the event for their students.
October 27, 2016 - Angela Gillis’s 4th Grade class at Excelsior School created Cereal Box Book Reports. Students decorated a real cereal box with the illustrations and information related to the book they read. A lot of time, effort, and hard work was put into these reports.
September 28, 2016 - Excelsior School students gathered at the flagpole on Wednesday, Sept. 28 for the annual "See You At The Pole" event. Students prayed for our great nation, community and school.
March 24, 2016 - Morris Hutto PM of Newbern Lodge #97 came to Excelsior School and presented fantastic toothbrush kits to Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grades. Thank you Newbern Lodge!
March 7, 2016 - Mrs. Angela Gillis’s fourth grade students at Excelsior wrote, illustrated and published their own book. The students included original stories and acrostic poems in the book. They learned what it takes to put a book together. They worked as a team to complete the project. The students helped each other by sharing ideas and lending a hand with illustrations. The students were able to purchase a copy of the book for themselves and donated a copy to the Excelsior library.
January 6, 2015 - Excelsior ISD students traveled to Mt Enterprise on December 9th and again on December 11th for UIL competition. Excelsior individual contestants scored five First Place wins, six second place wins and five third place wins. As a team, Excelsior scored three first place wins, three second place wins and three third place wins. Excelsior was competing against Chireno ISD, Laneville ISD, Gary ISD and Mt. Enterprise ISD.
