Center Tennis Sweeps Pineywoods Academy in Team Tennis Play

August 23, 2024 - The Riders hosted Pineywoods Academy and swept the competition on Thursday, August 22.

The match began with doubles and the Riders line 1 boys doubles of Logan Galindo / Chris Acosta had the closest match of the day winning 6-2, 7-6. The rest of the doubles were all dominated by Center who  led 7-0 after doubles.

The singles matches would also go Center's way with only one match going into a close tiebreaker.

The day ended in a clean sweep at home winning 19-0.

This improves our record to 5-3 and 2-0 in District play.

Center Jr. Varsity Tennis Team Wins District Title

April 5, 2022 - Center hosted the UIL District 17 Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament on Friday, April 1st and the results are as follows:

JV Boys Singles:
1st - Vendenheede (Jasper)
2nd - Glenn (Jasper)
3rd - Ryan Arndt (Center)
4th - Wade Collard (Center)

JV Boys Doubles:
1st - Charlie Corbell / Nathan Creech (Center)
2nd - Hunter Cooper / Octavio Hernandez (Center)
3rd - Luke Fausett / Braxton Hardy (Center)

Center Tennis Has Great Week; Upcoming Schedule

March 21, 2022 - Center High School hosted both Junior Varisty and Varsity level tournaments this past week winning overall 8 first place medals and 5 second place medals.

The Junior Varisty tournament hosted 8 schools on Tuesday, March 15 and the results are as follows:

Boys Singles:
John Ford - 1st place!!
Wade Collard - 4th place
Ayden Smith - won consolation

Girls Singles:
Hollie Herndon - 1st place!!

Center Tennis Varsity, JV Recent Tournament Results; Upcoming Tournaments

On March 1, 2022 the JV tennis team travelled to Whitehouse and had a long day with 16 schools and only two sites. Top finishers include the following:

  • Girls singles: Gracie Boyd - 1st place
  • Mixed doubles: John Ford / Chloe Rachal - 2nd place
  • Mixed doubles: Luke Fausett / Amanda Lopez - consolation medalist
  • Boys doubles: Charlie Corbell / Ryan Arndt - consolation medalist

On March 3, 2022 the Varsity competed at the Longview Lobo invite. 24 schools with 4A thru 6A all in same brackets. Results are as follows:
