April 24, 2019 - S. W. Carter Elementary is proud to announces the students who achieved Perfect Attendance for the Fifth Six Weeks of the 2018-2019 school year.

S. W. Carter Elementary Honor Roll Fifth Six Weeks

April 24, 2019 - S. W. Carter Elementary announces the students who made the Honor Roll for the Fifth Six Weeks by maintaining an 80 or above average in all subjects or a 90 or above average in all subjects.

Third Grade - Sophie Ellington, Cassidy Greer, Kyleigh Hendricks, Irianna Herrra, Dakota Horne, Caleb Jamison, and Guner Youngblood

Fourth Grade - Abby Baylor, Carter Bell, Jaylee Gillesie, Cori Lawson, Weston Murphy, Dallas Murry, Kaden Sims, Trinity Sims, and Eddie Turk

Shelbyville I.S.D. Accepting Student Transfers

April 16, 2019 - Parents of students living outside the Shelbyville Independent School District who wish their children to attend Shelbyville Schools during the 2019-2020 school year must request transfer no later than May 30, 2019 

This applies to both old and new transfer students. New transfers who are approved will be required to pay tuition to attend. 

To request paperwork, please call the Superintendent’s Office at 936-598-2641.

Huxley Helping Hands Food Pantry

April 10, 2019 - Huxley Helping Hands, a local mission group from the Huxley Community is  holding a food pantry for the residents of Shelby County. I.D.& proof of residency is required. You will not receive a box if you do not bring photo ID.

Only one (1) box per household it will be held this Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Sign-in starts at 9am until food is gone at Hillcrest Baptist Church 901 Southview Circle Center Texas.

Texas House, Senate Recognize 2A State Basketball State Champion Shelbyville Dragons

April 5, 2019 - The 2A State Basketball State Champion Shelbyville Dragons were acknowledged at the Texas House and Texas Senate in Austin on April 4, 2019. The Dragons met with Representative Chris Paddie and Senator Robert Nichols and presented them with a Gold medal. To cap off their trip, the Dragons toured the TX Longhorn Basketball facilities and were given the opportunity to utilize the facility.
