October 23, 2023 - This year’s Halloween in the Hole will take place October 31, 2023 from 5:30-7pm at the Center High School baseball field. Kids dressed in costumes 13 and under are invited to an evening of trick-or-treat fun!
September 1, 2023 - Funeral arrangements for SCSO Deputy Matthew Pierson will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Harmony Hill Baptist Church located at 2708 South Chestnut Street in Lufkin. TX. Public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Blue Springs Cemetery Etoile, TX. Food for the family can be dropped off at Etoile Volunteer Fire Department or the Etoile Water Department beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 5.
July 16, 2021 - The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive held Friday, July 16, at the Community House in Center, was a great success! A total of 43 donors showed up for the event. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office walked away as the winner with a total of 24 donors. The Center Police Department came in close with 19 donors.
We would like to extend a sincere thanks to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center (GCRBC) and Amy Lindley with the Center Police Department for helping organize the event.
July 14, 2021 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is closing in on purchasing the medication disposal unit we have been accepting donations for. At the present time, we are $659 dollars away from out total price of $1,659.00.

August 7, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is hosting a blood drive in honor of Parker Chase on Friday, August 16th from 10am until 2:30pm at the donor coach which will be at Raymond Motor Company, 301 San Augustine Street in Center.
January 4, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Department encourages everyone to 'Give Blood' on Friday, January 4, 2019. The blood drive will be from 10am until 2:30pm.
