August 15, 2018 - Mike and Linda Bordelon celebrate their 53rd Anniversary with beekeepers at the August Pineywoods Beekeepers Association meeting in Lufkin. They were married August 14, 1965 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Marksville, Louisiana.

June 30, 2017 -  Local beekeepers Mike and Linda Bordelon presented a program on the "Importance of Bees" which included an observation hive to the 4-8 age group at the Fannie Brown Booth Library Summer Reading Event on June 29.  The children were able to have a hands-on experience with beekeeping tools and a close up look at bees working in the hive.

April 25, 2017 - The Deep East Texas Beekeepers Association will meet Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 6:00 pm at the Chamber Log Cabin at 611 W. Columbia in San Augustine, Texas.  Rachel Payne, Area Beekeeper and Pineywoods Beekeepers Association member, will present a program on "Swarms and Bait Hives." Visitors are welcome, and refreshments will be served.

February 19, 2017 - The 7 Sisters Red Hat Society enjoyed a delicious lunch, Valentines Day, and Judy Carrington's  birthday at the Nettie's Nook and Sammich Shop which provided Red Hat cookies and decorations for members Queen Trudie Willis,
