October 20, 2018 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department would like to make everyone aware of a possible phone scam taking place in our area. It has come to our attention that someone from a 430 area code has been calling citizens in the Joaquin area supposedly asking for donations to the “volunteer fire department”.

The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department has never, does not, and will not solicit donations over the phone. We deeply appreciate all of our supporters who so generously donate to our department.

April 24, 2018 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ brisket plate fundraiser on Saturday, April 28th. BBQ plates, which include sliced beef, beans, potato salad, bread, and a soft drink, will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the JVFD fire station. Cost per plate is $10. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the same day, there will be a cakewalk on Steve Hughes Drive in front of the station. At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, immediately before the cakewalk, we will be holding a very special tribute to our nation’s veterans.

January 5, 2018 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department responded to 56 emergency calls in 2017. The calls cover a wide variety of situations, ranging from assisting EMS to full blown structure fires. The breakdown is as follows:
