August 23, 2020 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire on County Road 3542 at 3:43am on Sunday, August 23rd.
March 1, 2020 - At 2:05 pm Sunday afternoon, March 1, the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire on County Road 3340 near the intersection of FM 2787. Firefighters from Joaquin VFD along with automatic mutual aid units from Desoto Fire District #1 arrived at 2:10 to find a single story wood frame home with heavy fire showing from three sides. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the two bedrooms on the opposite end of the house, preserving some of the contents of those rooms.
January 31, 2020 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will host a political rally fundraiser on Saturday, February 1st at the Joaquin ISD Cafeteria.
Beginning at 6pm, guests can enjoy a bowl of homemade chili with crackers and a drink for $5. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to meet and visit with many of the candidates on the Shelby County Precinct 3 ballot for the March Primary.
June3, 2019 - At 9:30 pm Sunday evening, The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department, along with Desoto Fire District #1, was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of FM 3174.

May 3, 2019 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Spring Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4th.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m., BBQ plates with your choice of sliced beef or sausage will be available at the fire station for $8.00, including potato salad, beans and a soft drink. The evening events will begin earlier this year to include some added excitement. The annual Cake Walk will start at 4:00 p.m., featuring cakes, pies and cookies from some of the area’s best bakers.
