CR 4323 Reopened to Cautious General Traffic

May 12, 2023 - Commissioner Bellmyer reports water has now receded on CR 4323, with the exception of one section of the roadway that has some water at a depth of 5-6 inches at the deepest point.

The roadway is reopened to general traffic with caution there is still water across it, and drivers should use caution and slow speed through the submerged section.

The water is expected to be gone tomorrow.

CR 4323 Has Re-opened

April 8, 2023 - Commissioner Bellmyer has reported the water has receded at CR 4323 and the roadway is back open to all traffic.


April 7, 2023 - Tom Bellmyer, Commissioner Precinct 4, indicates on Friday, April 7, 2023, that CR 4323 has water over the top of it.

Section of CR 4849 Closed Due to Bridge Damage (Roadway Reopen)

January 7, 2021 - Commissioner Tom Bellmyer reports, despite challenges from the weather, repair to the bridge on CR 4849 has been completed and the roadway is back open. Thank you for your patience during the time it took to make the repairs.


January 4, 2021 - Shelby County Commissioner for Precinct 4 Tom Bellmyer has closed a section of CR 4849 between CR 4861 and CR 4872 due to a truck which has broken down and damaged a bridge on January 5. 

CR 4323 Again Open to Regular Traffic

May 26, 2020 - The water has receded at Risinger Creek and CR 4323 is now open again to regular traffic.


May 25, 2020 - Commissioner Tom Bellmyer announces County Road 4323 at Risinger Creek is currently under water and impassable to car traffic.

Barricades have now been established, and once the roadway clears will be removed and this information updated.

 

Dam Break Causes Flooding on CR 4021; Road is Passable Again

March 6, 2020 - County Road 4021 is open for traffic once again. Currently there are some barricades on the side of the road in the problem area. Travelers are asked to use caution in that area, the road is a little bit rough right now, and is not a full two lanes. Repair is expected for next week.


March 6, 2020 - A portion of CR 4021, two to three miles south of Timpson on SH 87, is closed due to a dam break. A newly established pond located in the woods off CR 4021 had a dam failure, which resulted in the flooding.
