May 17, 2020 - TxDSHS reports 175 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Shelby County and 5 deaths from the virus.

Today, Texas altogether had 785 new cases with 31 new fatalities from the virus reported.

May 13, 2020 - TxDSHS reports five new cases for a total of 163 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Shelby County and 5 deaths from the virus. Today, Texas had 1,355 new cases with 25 new fatalies from the virus reported.

May 12, 2020 - The Texas Department of State Health Services is distributing 1,200 vials of the drug remdesivir to hospitals to treat patients with COVID-19. The antiviral medication, which has shown promise in early trials in speeding up the recovery time among hospitalized COVID-19 patients, has been provided by the federal government from a supply donated by Gilead, the manufacturer.
